SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS: SPACE W/IN A SPACE
Having a Space with in a Space, is quite self explanatory; inside a larger space holds a smaller space. This form of organization is used to conserve space, manipulate space, break up space and even create focal points with in a space. In my example, the shower is not adjacent to a wall but contains its own walls, so it is more like the shower room, with in the bath room.

Adjacent Spaces, are created when two areas meet, but they still retain their own identities. They help break up a larger space into separate or multiple areas. In my example, the to spaces are connected at the meeting point of the window. This window connection is what closes the entire space, but also creates the division.

SPATIAL ORGANIZATION: CENTRALIZED ORGANIZATION
Centralized Organization, is this symmetrical balance achieved by creating a mirror-like placement within a space. The imaginary line that divides this space explains that what is on one side of the space is also going to be on the other side. In my example, this space follows centralized organization, being that everything is strategically placed to (if "cut" in half will) show the same pattern.
SPATIAL ORGANIZATION: LINEAR ORGANIZATION
Linear spacial organization, is the way the elements of a space is laid out, to create the type of circulation needed to accommodate a space. In my example, it is linear organization needed forthis space. Being that it is a hair salon, the lines strengthen the balance of the different stations and the areas designated for the stylists and the clients. This organization determines the flow of how client and staff move within the space.
SPATIAL ORGANIZATION: RADIAL ORGANIZATION
Radial Organization occurs when the pattern "lines" expand from one central point. Like rays, the lines must start from this point, no matter the direction. This type of organization is meant to bring focus to the central point that the "rays" are expanding from. In my example, I made two centralized areas, the chandelier and the table. The chandelier which is centered in space above the table creating a focal point of the room, but the table is also the central point being the meeting area and the chairs are the "rays" that expand around it.
